Terms of Service

Terms of Service

Last updated: May 2026. These terms apply to the first public version of PrivateConverts. They are written for clarity, but they are not a substitute for legal advice.

Use of the service

PrivateConverts provides browser-based file tools and educational content for convenience. You are responsible for the files you choose, convert, download or otherwise process with the service.

Supported browser-based tools

For supported image tools, processing is designed to happen in your browser. Very large files, unsupported formats or low-memory devices may fail. PrivateConverts does not guarantee perfect compatibility with every file, browser, device or format.

Future cloud tools

Future versions may include optional cloud processing, accounts, paid features, batch processing or heavier conversion tools. If a feature requires upload, the interface should clearly say so before use. Cloud tools may be subject to additional limits, pricing, storage rules and deletion rules.

Prohibited use

Intellectual property

You keep your rights to your files. You are responsible for making sure you have permission to process, modify or share them. PrivateConverts owns or licenses the website design, text, interface, code and branding, except where third-party libraries or assets have their own licenses.

No professional guarantee

PrivateConverts is provided as-is. File conversion may change quality, metadata, dimensions, compression, transparency or compatibility. Always keep a copy of your original files and review output files before publishing, sending, archiving or relying on them.

Privacy and security limits

Local processing can reduce unnecessary uploads, but it does not make every file safe to share. Removing metadata does not remove visible details inside an image. You remain responsible for reviewing the visible content, file contents and intended destination before sharing.

Advertising, analytics and monetization

PrivateConverts may later include advertising, analytics, premium convenience features or supporter options. Monetization should not hide whether processing is local or cloud-based. If third-party ads or analytics are added, the legal pages and cookie/consent notices should be updated before launch.

Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent allowed by applicable law, PrivateConverts is not liable for lost files, conversion errors, quality loss, metadata changes, compatibility problems, business losses or misuse of the service. Use the tools only after keeping safe copies of important files.

Changes to the service

We may change, pause or remove tools, pages, limits or features as the product evolves. These terms may also be updated when the service changes.
