Privacy-first, not vague

Privacy Policy

Last updated: May 2026. PrivateConverts is designed around local browser processing for supported image tools. When a tool is marked as local or browser-based, the selected file is processed on your device and does not need to be uploaded to our servers.

Who we are

PrivateConverts provides browser-based image conversion and privacy education at privateconverts.com. For privacy questions, feedback or removal requests, contact support@privateconverts.com.

Local browser processing

Supported tools such as WebP to PNG, PNG/JPG to WebP, image compression, resizing, HEIC to JPG and metadata removal use browser capabilities to create a new output file locally. In this version, the website does not need to store those files on a server to complete the conversion.

Local processing means the conversion work happens in your browser. The website interface still loads from our website, but the selected image for supported tools is handled by browser APIs on your device before you download the result.

Files you choose

We do not ask you to create an account for the supported local image tools. We also do not intentionally collect the images you choose for those tools. You are responsible for the files you select and process, including making sure you have the right to process them.

If a future tool requires upload or cloud processing, the interface should clearly say so before processing starts. Cloud-based features may have separate limits, storage rules and deletion rules.

Metadata and output files

Some tools export a fresh image copy from a browser canvas. This commonly avoids copying many original metadata blocks, but it should not be treated as a forensic guarantee. Always review the final file before publishing, sending or relying on it.

Basic technical data

Like most websites, our hosting provider may process basic technical information needed to deliver the site, such as IP address, browser type, requested pages, timestamps and error logs. This is used for security, reliability and abuse prevention.

Analytics

The first public version can run without analytics. Privacy-friendly analytics may be added later to understand visits, errors and tool completion rates. If analytics are enabled, the public policy should be updated to explain what is collected, why it is collected and how long it is kept.

Advertising

Advertising may be added later. If ads are enabled, ad providers may use cookies, device identifiers or similar technologies depending on the provider and the visitor's consent settings. Before ads go live, this policy and any cookie or consent notice should be updated to reflect the actual ad provider and configuration.

Cookies

The current local-first version does not require account cookies for basic image conversion. Future analytics, advertising, security or preference features may use cookies or similar technologies. If non-essential cookies are added, the site should provide the required notice and, where required, consent controls.

Children

PrivateConverts is not designed for children. Do not use the service to process files involving children if you do not have the right to do so.

Your choices

For supported local tools, you can avoid uploading private images by using the browser-based workflow and downloading the output directly. You can also contact us at support@privateconverts.com for privacy questions or requests related to data that may be held by the website infrastructure.

Policy updates

This policy may change as PrivateConverts grows. Material changes should be reflected on this page before new analytics, ads, accounts or upload-based cloud tools are launched publicly.
